Afternoon

15:00
-
There are new barbed wire concertina fences on the right side
of the road from Izbet Tabib and Azzun and further on.

Azzun – The entrance from the new road
is blocked by tall piles of rocks and earth.  We entered Azzun further
down the road.  The roadblock to Azzun from road 55 was opened as
well as the roadblock in the direction of Hirbet Asla.  We got
to the other side of the roadblock and heard that the army was hurrying
to pile up more earth and rocks on the narrow passage that served pedestrian
traffic.

16:35: Further on down road 55
the yellow gate is locked as well as the other nearby that is closer
to Lasra.  We hope that the exit from the village has been opened
and perhaps the Juneid checkpoint has also been eliminated.

We wanted to check if the road to Haja
was blocked.  At Funduk we were told that there is no checkpoint.

17:00 - We drove on inner roads
through Tulat and Abu Salaman, until we reached the southern checkpoint
at Qalqilya a bit before Hirbet Ras Atia.  The soldiers there checked
chars, but did not know why they were checking cars going from one Palestinian
village to another.  There was no long line.

17:45 – We reached the lower
checkpoint at Azun Atma.  Cars are being checked at the entrance
and passengers have to pass through a pedestrian checkpoint.  There
are few cars going out and several pedestrians who are also being checked.
