The Te’enim-Jubara
passage

Like in the last two weeks the
gate opens even before we have time to ask. A pity that this was not
the procedure in the past. ..

On the road there is a bus with
school children. Like everywhere the kids are happy that the school
day is over. We notice that a new grocery store has opened. Maybe they
know something we do not?

At gate 735 there are five illegals.
The soldiers have their documents. The illegals claim that they have
been waiting an hour, while the soldiers say it has been only ten minutes.
Even the average is too long. Four of them are released, one at the
time. The fifth person has to wait a little longer. A soldier with a
babyinfo-icon face explains that they have to be educated!!

Another soldier with a friendly
look on his face says: “You’re lucky, you come here as volunteers.
I come because I’m forced to do it.”

We say goodbye and wish each
other a happy holiday.

Anabta

When we arrive a line of cars
starts out from the junction. It keeps growing. The reason: The road
works to make the passage wider (?)

A truck with a trailer and a
lever blocks the passage in both directions. Everything has come to
a standstill. In Israel, when this kind of work is performed, one makes
sure that the traffic is not delayed for too long. Here the soldiers
enjoy the opportunity to be idle. They do not even have to raise their
hand to direct the traffic.

The commander of the roadblock
“does not like us personally”.
The trailer changes
its position and a small number of cars drive through. Then everything
comes to a standstill again.

14.45  The traffic is moving
forwards without delay. Two cars are being checked and then the following
vehicles are let through without being checked. The inefficiency and
the lack of organization are aggravating.
