Morning

06:50 AM, Bethlehem - Checkpoint 300:  four inspection stations are open, with queues of up to ten people. According to the Palestinians, there is pressure of people waiting on the other side of the checkpoint, and it took them one to one-and-a-half hours to get through. Only one of the two inspection machines – the X-ray machine – is working.

08:15 AM,  Beit Ummar:  i
t is very cold;  we returned documents to Palestinians, and no additional people asked for help.

08:50 AM,  Beit 'Inun:  t
he substantial barriers on both sides of the road still exist.

09:00 AM,  Nabi Yunis:  w
e had arranged a meeting there and passed over documents.

09:30  AM, Beit  Ummar:  o
n our way back we receive a telephone call from  two Palestinians : one of them claims that a building contractor in Tel Aviv owes him money but the latter says he doesn’t remember and doesn’t owe anything. Is there any way we can help him ?

10:00  AM, Etzion DCL:  a
few people, who have been summoned by the GSS, are waiting in the queue.    No-one knows when they will enter “the captain’s office”. Only three people are waiting in the waiting room for assistance from the DCL. Is the cold weather keeping them all at home, or perhaps all their problems are solved ?
