Morning

Translation:  Suzanne O.

6:55 a.m.

The entrance to Zeita is barred; the entrance to Marda is open.

Za'atra/Tapuach

7:00 a.m.

There are 8 vehicles in the queue from the direction of Nablus, the queue moves quickly.  Two lanes are open.

Huwwara

7:25 a.m.

The car park is very busy, lots of taxis.  At the pedestrian queue (at the exit from Nablus) there are about 20 people.  Vehicles arrive and cross immediately, two lanes are open and the soldiers inspect briskly.

The concrete blocks which bar the way for wheelchairs to get to the disabled lane have not been moved.

Awarta

8:05 a.m.

There are 8 vehicles in the queue to leave Nablus, the queue moves swiftly.  The DCO soldier talked to at length about his efforts to ease the lives of the Palestinians at the roadblock.

Beit Furiq

8:15 a.m.

Empty.  The roadblock commander came over and spoke to us quite politely.

Marda and Zeita

As they were on our way in.
