Jubara
13:50 – The gate to Jubara opened without delay. We pass the Schoolchildren's Gate and get to Ar-Ras checkpoint. Seven reservists are checking everyone who passes the checkpoint in any direction. Three soldiers are busy checking whether they can give passage permission for equipment found in a private car, which is parked nearby. Two other soldiers are checking all those who come from the direction of Tulkarm. One of them, while checking, is on the phone with an earpiece, speaking Russian. He is holding his weapon nervously, checking every little bag he finds in the car. Two more soldiers are conducting the inspection of cars coming from the east. The road is rough and the drivers have to maneuver the cars between the potholes.

A pedestrian who arrives from the direction of Tulkarm is asked to stop way before the checkpoint. The soldier explains to him, using hand gestures, that he must raise his shirt and turn around. Two young men who come on foot from the east undergo the same check. At this hour there is in both directions a lively traffic of cars and trucks loaded with merchandise.
