Afternoon

14.00 – 17.00

We started at Sheikh Saed, everything as "usual": The stores are closed, very few people around, the private cars that are stranded wait for customers, the two wheeled ambulance is chained to an electric post and the garbage piles are getting larger and larger.

We continued along the American "road" and unfortunately lost our way and found ourselves in Abu Tur. From there via the old city, Wadi Jos and Mount Scopus we got to Maale Adumim and from there to Wadi Nar. Because of the long way we made and the heavy traffic, we reached our destination when it was dark already.

The traffic in both directions moved fast, the drivers were instructed to lower their lights when approaching the CP in order not to blind the soldiers. Everyone obeys promptly. It is not easy to see the soldiers since they are not wearing any shining uniforms.

On the way back we stopped at the A-Zaim CP to find out weather the Palestinian busses are let through. We were told they are allowed to pass only through Kalandia or Bethlehem.
