A group of c. 15 men were waiting. School-children passed freely. Only one turnstile was operating for both exits and entrances, because the magnometer at the seond turnstile had broken down. (Someone came to fix it a couple of days ago but to no avail.) Even though there was a sense of relaxation about the inspection of documents and the passage of neighbourhood residents, the attitude of the soldiers vis-a-vis the population was not particularly relaxed.
The changing of the guard took place around 7:10

Sparse flow of traffic at the checkpoint. We crossed to the Palestinian side and talked to the manager of one of the two Palestinian bus routes (63) that reaches the crossing.
09:30 Wadi Nar
Lively traffic flowing freely, without incidental detentions. Now and then the soldiers stop one of the vehicles to inspect documents, and immediately gesture to drive on.
