8:10  Za'tara-Tapuach junction:  almost no cars.

8:25  Huwwara.
Very few going back and forth.  Perhaps because of Ramadan, perhaps because of yesterday's incident - a Palestinian woman threw acid in a soldier's face.

To our surprise, A., the checkpoint commander, and T., the DCO representative, welcome us politely.
In response to our inquiry they tell us about yesterday's incident, without expressing either hatred or a desire for revenge.  They say that in the interrogation the young woman said she wanted to commit suicide.  Apparently it's easier for them to believe the explanation of "problems at home."

The soldiers behave routinely toward the Palestinians.

The humanitarian lane is open.

Burin-Yitzhar checkpoint is unmanned, as usual.
