Afternoon

13:45 Jubara

The gate opens quickly and in the shade of the checkpost the "hill boys" are having a rest.

13:50 The Children's Gate

We reach A-ras and are greeted indifferently by the soldiers manning the checkposts. Ditza is amazed by the changes at the checkpoint since she has been here last - 6 years ago.

In answer to the soldier's question "where are the cakes and candy?", we told him that he made a mistake - we were not the ones who spoilt them. When he asked why we were there at all, we replied, but when we started talking about the occupation and the checkpoints we could see that we were wasting our words. The guy simply could not understand and claimed that it had  always been like this, even before he was born. The kid is right.

14:20 Anabta

Very few cars in each direction. The soldiers let them all through without the standard question "are you fasting today?".

Relatively many cars with yellow number plates go through today. We bought figs and left at 14:40.

16:00 Tzoofin - Qalqiliya

Just a quick visit for a general impression. Elisheva and Ditza report that all is well and that there are no delays in any direction.
