Morning

Translator:  Charles K.

6:52  Shomron Gate.  The checkpoint isn't manned.

7:03  Marda - The road is open, things at Zeita as usual, the road is blocked by concrete blocks.

7:07  Za'tara/Tapuach -
5 cars on line at the checkpoint from the direction of Ariel.  About 25 cars on line from the direction of Huwwara.   Reservists from the armored corps are on duty at the checkpoint.
A bus is stopped to check the passengers' documents, released after 7 minutes.
When we leave the checkpoint there's no line at all from Huwwara.

7:40  Huwwara.  The parking lot is half full.  About 60-70 people on line to be checked at the exit from Nablus.  Three inspection lanes open.
When we leave the checkpoint at 8:10, there are about 50 people on line.

8:20  Awarta.
Five trucks leaving Nablus waiting to be checked.  Another truck drives into the city, and there's a truck in the parking lot.  A. A. tells us that the soldiers from Golani have stopped taking away their documents, but there are 2-3 commanders who don't behave properly - he doesn't provide details.

8:32  Beit Furik.
3 cars on the road entering Nablus.  The taxi drivers at the café report that in the past week there's almost never been a line to enter Nablus (maybe because people simply aren't leaving the village), and that the soldiers let people through almost without checking them.  When we get to the checkpoint we see that's actually the case.  Few people pass through on foot from time to time.

9:40  Za'tara/Tapuach - 11 cars on line from Huwwara.  3 cars from Ariel.

Marda and Zeita as before.
