Ar-Ras, Jubara (Kafriat), Wed 14.5.08, Afternoon
General: Little movement and the reservists are satisfactory.
The gate was immediately opened for us. We asked the soldier for his telephone number so as to phone when we returned and he did so without hesitation. This is an efficient and recommended way of doing things. The children's gate was empty. At A-Ras there was a change of shift which caused a delay and drivers said they had waited half an hour and was soon as the change in shift was concluded the traffic jam ended. The soldiers listen to us and the Palestinian. A man who asked to speak because of his brother who had been injured and needed treatment was let though immediately. Cars leaving Tulkarm were checked and those entering did so freely. When we left Jubara the soldier whom we phoned came at once to let us through. At Anabta there was little and swift movement. Noami told Tammie that there had been a traffic jam at Qalqiliya for the past half hour and Eran at the DCO said that they knew and were dealing with it. We go to Beit Iba.
