Afternoon

Translator:  Charles K.

16:15  About 25 people waiting to enter Nablus.  Documents are being checked rigorously.

A continuous trickle of people leaving Nablus.

A taxi driver from Cochin has been detained since 15:00.  The reason – he came too close to the CP with his taxi.

The CP commander meets with the drivers from Cochin.  It turns out that there's a new instruction from the battalion commander that the taxis from Cochin will remain far back on the side of the hill.  An additional method of harassing the residents of Cochin.

After the discussion with the drivers Afik, the CP commander, agrees to allow one taxi to stand in the usual location.  The drivers are still annoyed at the new decrees.

Amit called the Humanitarian Center twice but didn't get any answer.  They pass complaints on to the DCO, not to the brigade.

16:50  There were no lines in the vehicle lane either entering or exiting Nablus during the entire time we were at the CP.

There's a dog handler, and when the dog is checking something they stop checking the cars.  We asked the commander why the dog handler doesn't work off to one side.  The answer was that they're short one soldier.

Since the line is short, the delay is hardly felt.  The line never exceeds 4 vehicles.

17:15  The commander refuses to release the detainee before 18:00.

We left.
