Afternoon

We arrived at the Zeitun crossing at about 4:00 p.m. and it was almost totally abandoned.  Perhaps it was because of the hour, the terrible heat, or the closureinfo-icon due to the holiday.  A private security guard wanted to know who we were.

En route  to Wadi Naar:  There were two flying checkpoints on the road from Maale Adumim heading toward Azariah.  One was manned by blue police and the other by border police.

There was considerable traffic at Wadi Nar considering the conditions mentioned above.  We saw five border police inside the hut there.  One or another emerged every few minutes to wave the traffic through and then went back in to get out of the sun.

During the 40 minutes or so that we were there, only one transit was detained and even here, the i.d.'s were returned within five minutes.  We saw no workers or pedestrians go through the checkpoint during the time that we were there.
