7:45 - Za'tara/Tapuah Junction

It is raining. As it is the day after the commotions and news about stone-throwing etc. our early setting-off is delayed. In the end the general impression of the area is curfew, shut stores, shut schools, there is hardly a person outside. There are few cars at the junction coming from Nablus.

08:00 Huwwara

The parking area is crowded. At the CP there is no pressure but the passage is very slow. Everybody is adjusting his belt at the exit. There is curfew at Huwwara itself. There are more Hummer vehicles than usual in the area. One hummer blocks the turning to Beita. The market along the road is closed.

09:00 Awarta

There are 5 trucks at the entrance heading in the direction of Nablus, 8 vehicles at the exit.

09:10 - Beit Furik

Notwithstanding the late hour here still is a queue of cars at the entrance to Nablus. The drivers complain about a 3 hours wait at the queue. We called E. who said he would come to check. There are hardly any pedestrians at the entrance to Nablus.

09:45 - Za'tara/Tapuah Junction

About 20 cars are waiting at the CP to be checked.
