'Atil

 

10:30 We have a meeting with the head of the "baladiya" in Atil regarding the closed gate to the Atil hothouses.  It will also be dealt with by Yesh Din, pening his consent to make a formal statement.  For that, he needs the approval of the PA.  He has arranged a breakfast for us (fragrant fresh pita with herbs), and we chat while waiting.  He tells us no new permits have been issued in 2016. Previously, only 5 of 50 requests were granted.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The neighboring settlement is exapnding into their lands.  We wanted to speak with the council head, but he was out.  He works voluntarily, and only comes when needed.
