Ar-Ram: A middle-aged man without a permit but with a written
doctor's appointment was allowed to pass. A young man standing by
the little hut complained bitterly about having been held already
for two hours as a punishment for the crime of answering
"Al-Quds" when asked "Where are you going?".
His ID was returned following our intervention. On the western
parallel street, several BP were holding two Palestinian men who
had tried to bypass the checkpoint. Both got their IDs back in our
presence. Even people with blue IDs were told that they weren't
allowed to use this road.

Qalandya (South): No queues.

Qalandya (North): The metal detector was operating. A few
dozen people were waiting, but passage of pedestrians was swift
(that of cars somewhat less so). An (off-duty) ambulance was
checked for no more than two minutes. No detaineesinfo-icon.

A taxi driver told us that colleagues from Jenin had been
taken to an army base in Semiramis and beaten up. They also spoke
about the terrible feeling of being totally encircled and not being
to roam about freely even in one's own neighborhood. Another claim
was that only van drivers who bribe the soldiers are able to bring
in their loads.
