Abu Dis (4:30pm):

Seemingly very quiet near the gas station and wall, with a number
of people climbing over but no presence of border police.
Developments up at the hotel grounds described by the proprietors'
guards - their gate was torn open 'to provide a throughway for
vehicles proceeding to the new Jewish development on the hill to
the south'. Also, claimed that they had been warned that the hotel
itself was an attractive prospect for border police -
soon.

The checkpoint - the gate, was absolutely free, no border policemen
at all!

Wadi Nar (5 pm):

A steady flow of some 25 men being quickly checked and passing
through efficiently enough, as were cars and transits in both
directions. However, about 10 detaineesinfo-icon claimed to have been
waiting for over two hours for their Id cards to be returned. We
called the general Moqed first, following which some of the
detainees were sent off, but needed to contact the Army
Humanitarian Centre to complain that one person, returning from a
post-surgical check-up, was in bad shape and should be sent off
too.

Apparently, the latter’s favourable response helped (?), as the
whole group was released by 6pm.

Spoke to an officer (Andrei), who arrived at 5:30 and in a civil
way explained that the detainees were there as a result of a
sporadic, and not frequent, checkup they were conducting.
