Qalandiya

We went to Qalandya with a slight
apprehension after the reports from last week. We couldn't be more
surprised than we were by the calm atmosphere yesterday. Even the
transit driver on the way there told us it was quiet. We saw many
vans on the landing strip and were surprised to hear those were
stolen vans and not "detained"! We saw noon waiting and
all people were just going through. We felt that the officers in
charge could be spoken to if something "humanitarian"
happened. I commented to the officer how calm it felt and he said
he was surprised himself because he had to admit that last week it
was not so. I said that maybe it is so because he is in charge and
handling people calmly? He was flattered and I thought to myself
that next time I want my dividends from this bridge building.

Even at Bora Bora noon was coming out..
