Apparently the gate had been closed all
morning and only reopened at about 3 pm, and the people said it was
awful in the morning.

Sawahre: A friendly soldier, RA, was supervising the unbelievably
busy traffic. There was a group of about 30 detaineesinfo-icon. RA told his
soldiers: "If you don't get a reply about the IDs for over 20
minutes, let the people go". Indeed, soon they were making the
last phone call, and started giving the IDs back. A little group of
Al Quds summer students were stopped, but telling them how RP works
with Palestinian students at HU seemed to affect them: they let
them go unchecked. Back at Abu Dis: A queue, and a Russian speaking
border policeman. We had a conversation with them about human
rights.
