07:45, Artach' checkpoint (250 meter
from Tulkarm), between Israel and A territory. Total closureinfo-icon,
except for humanitarian cases. It has been this way for most of the
past 6 months. Meanwhile, the separation wall is being completed,
increasing the pressure. 7 truck drivers are waiting on the Israeli
side. One says he has been waiting since 06:00 for back to back
unloading, which starts at 08:00. The soldiers were BP, and the
shift officer ordered us to leave immediately.

08:20 Jubara checkpoint. Orders are the same: only Jubara residents
on the DCO list are let in. On the dirt road from Tulkarm, a
crowded line of passengers waits in the blazing sun. Some wagons
and over 30 cars and taxis. One soldier checks both pedestrians and
vehicles. People said they have been waiting for two hours. They
are used to wait up to 4-5 hours. The officer in charge is strict
with orders, and we had no luck with him. A group of people who had
registered through the DCO were waiting hours for the updated list
which had not arrived by 08:50. 2 ambulances on duty were let
through in 2-3 minutes. One old man owns some sheep and goats at
J'bbara and cannot get to them. In order to register at the DCO he
needs some document from Jubara council, but he is not allowed into
Jubara... A single soldier is dealing with the line, which is
moving unbearably slowly. We kept prodding him gently to do
something. Indeed, he moved a soldier from the other point, which
is less busy to the busy place.
