07:00. Pedestrian line from north to
south was not very long and people were moving in a satisfactory
pace. There was heavy pedestrian traffic from south to north. The
checkpoint was manned by a regular army unit, which included two
women. While the soldiers were fairly open to our appeals, the
women worked "by the book" in a manner that was
disrespectful and very nasty if not evil. During our shift we
managed to negotiate successfully most of the cases we tackled.
From a distance the car movement looked more or less OK.
