10:30 – the gate is closed, and people
are jumping freely off the wall in both directions, mostly to the
eastern side. Three BP soldiers are present but they almost don’t
bother checking IDs, except for young men with “religious”
appearance (beard and Kaffiya). We are told that the “kiosk”
checkpoint was removed and another was located instead down in Wadi
Nar, which is presently closed for traffic.Border policement behave
so indifferently, almost apathetic, and the people are very nervous
and angry.
