Morning

Qalqiliya 06:40-07:10
Vehicles
(Authority plates only) come in and out of the city almost without
checking. No lines form. The officer manning the checkpoint wants to
talk and airs his own views, unlike ours but without animosity.

Azzun  - The sand piles and boulders are still there.

Anabta 09:15-09:30
 (back from Beit
Iba)  - Vehicles pass without checking. Near the pillbox a military
jeep is parked. A pedestrian student is summoned to what seems like a
hush-hush conversation. An attempt to enlist him to something such as
we've witnessed in the past? After a few minutes he is sent away.

Jubara & A-Ras
09:40-10:30  - All is quiet.
The gate to the village is opened to us almost without delay. At gate
735 (former Children's Gate) the soldier asks for our IDs. We tell him
it's unnecessary, he checks with somebody and lets us pass. Hardly any
vehicles pass.
