including Anata
Anata, Ar-Ram, Qalandiya, Thursday, 21.7.2005, AMObservers: Ruth E., Aviva W., Rama Y. (reporting), aguestAnata. G., the CP’s commander, has developed anobsession about us, and his reaction to our presenceis quite hysterical. His reasoning: when the soldierssee us they don’t do their job properly and the resultis chaos in the otherwise orderly CP. So we standquite far away and cannot see what’s going on. Thereare many complaints and a lot of anger about G. andthe soldiers who operate the CP. A man told us thatthe day before the soldiers had forced a woman tounveil her face. There were 2 detainees when wearrived. G. forbade them to talk with each other. Bythe time we left there were already about 7.Ar-Ram. The minute the soldiers saw us approaching -we were about to cross the road – they herded all thedetainees, about a dozen of them, and led them to theother side of the CP, out of view. It could have beencomical, but it was not. Qalandiya. Ruthy addressed the representative of theJerusalem Envelope DCO and asked him whether there wasclosure. The answer: Call Zidky at the JerusalemEnvelope office and ask him. R,: Couldn’t you answer my question? The answer: Call Zidky at the JerusalemEnvelope office and ask him. Otherwise, it was quiet. The vendors hadn’t been harassed. We returned to Jerusalem through Ar-Ram, and Anata. InAr-Ram, we saw quite many detainees behind the shed.In Anata, there were no detainees. At least that.
