8 am: at E-Ram was relatively busy on the north/south track but smooth going. Qalandya: Again, the south/north flow was not being checked, and the north/south line was going at a rate of a 5 minute wait. There was obviously an instruction not to speak to us because not even "good morning" was answered. Those with no permits were being turned back, but otherwise the line went briskly with four soldiers (including two older volunteers) efficiently checking. An ambulance coming south/north was held for about five minutes, but let through, and another one went through almost immediately. There were about 30 vehicles from north/south waiting. Many people went through Tora-Bora on foot with no military or BP presence. We left after an uneventful shift.
