E-Ram: Pedestrians passed by quickly. 6 detainees were standing near the soldiers. When we passed by 3 hours later they were gone. The line of cars also drove by briskly. Qalandya: Long wait - maybe hours - before the processed cars and lorries could go on. The pedestrian line, going South, was processed smoothly and reasonably politely; even the volunteer soldier was polite. We noted that there were few yellow cabs with Palestinian number-plates working between E-Ram and Qalandya, and also saw that a few dozen white transit cars were being held at the nearby airstrip.
