We went to our weekly chat with some Taxi drivers at Qalandya. We met Ali who offered us his taxi for Surda, telling us that he is the one to take other shifts as well, and that it is not safe for us to be there without him, so that he will stay with us and take us back. Although we were shocked by Surda, people seem to adjust even to that. We saw very old people making their way slowly, taking a rest halfway, probably don't understand why and what for. When we got there we saw 3 jeeps half way from south to north. We went to say hi and they all left, two down the road to the west and one up to push the concrete cube for a U.N car to go by. Then the front of the jeep was used again to move the heavy cube back, and this third jeep left as well. Within seconds, vehicles started to wildly go through, trying to get to the other side before the jeeps return, which indeed happened after about ten minutes. The jeep left again a few minutes later, and so did we.
