Afternoon

On our way to Qalandya, we were told by a taxi driver that the big yellow building between E-Ram and Qalandya that once belonged to the Mashbir is used now by the Border Police for interrogations.It was very cold and raining. There were many more soldiers than usual at Qalandya. At the southern end, there was a very long line of cars, and a lot of detained people. We spoke to the commander of the machsom who told us that they got a warning about a suitcase with explosive materials – they won’t let men under 45 to pass through – even with blue id. The commander and some of the soldiers behaved correctly, the rest of them were very rude and even upset at the reservists who were behaving courteously to the Palestinians.
