Until we reched the wall, we did not encounter any soldiers or police. However, as we approached the wall, the transit drivers surrounded us and complained about the craziness at the wall today. There were no less than a dozen border police there and one team with a sniffing dog. The dog was sniffing the local cars that drove by, and some pedestrians. The mound at the wall was less steep today and the line of people trying to pass was shorter, so the congestion was less. Nevertheless, the soldiers stood atop the wall to check people as they went by. Most were checked politely and efficiently and allowed to pass.We saw nothing untoward at the 'hotel' and the university gate was locked. On the Eastern side of the wall many were anxious to speak with us and many spoke of lack of basics such as food and electricity at home.
