E-Ram: Lots of southbound traffic. Checking relatively swift, but because of the large number of cars, the waiting periods were long. The yellow cab taking us from E-Ram to Qalandya made a big detour to avoid confiscation on the main road. The streets are in appalling condition and probably totally ruinous for the cars.Qalandya South: An officer named Liran, approached by us to help locate a confiscated ID first suggested that the person should just get a new one. However, he turned out to be unusually cooperative and promiseed to call Beth-El. Our own call to Safadi yielded nothing but the information that the ID may have been passed on to the Palestinian liaison and that we should call again on Sunday. At the parking lot of the cabs and transits, we approached one of the drivers to hear what the situation is. We were told that for the past few days, taxis have been confiscated again and are kept at the Atarot airport, this time at a distant place not visible from the street. On the way back, we again had to take a detour to stay off the main road.
