We approached Abu Dis from the Mount of Olives and Azaria, past the monasteries, and arrived at the checkpoint. There were no soldiers or border police. People were climbing over the blocks and squeezing through the cracks in the wall. We took a taxi to the Wadi Na'ar checkpoint and to Suwarha. There were two border police at the checkpoint. One with glaring orange sunglasses told us he has seen us and talked to us about his liberal views before. He is in favor of people working, living and being treated with respect. In the meantime, every car approaching the checkpoint stopped at a little distance and "respectfully" waited for the guy to allow them to approach the checkpoint and be searched/checked and allowed to continue their journey. We learned that this checkpoint falls under the jurisdiction of Judea/Samaria.
