Abu Dis wall as usually. Three border police stand under a roof of the gas station. Soldiers are indifferent to people who climb over the wall.We passed through the Islamic College to the Eastern side and were informed by transit drivers about changes at Wadi Nar road (the road that connect Abu Dis with Bethlehem). Wadi Nar checkpoint We arrived there by a transit. Changes were introduced about 5-7 days ago. The previous checkpoint (with an iron gate) in an area B was abandoned and the new 24 hr checkpoint (just jeep and soldiers) is arranged in the area A, just before Abadiye village. Transits are not allowed to move through this checkpoint and very few trucks and one ambulance was able to pass. Pedestrian movement is forbidden to Palestinians, inside the area A!!!, and only one woman with blue ID passed . We observed the checkpoint from about 300-400 m (we were afraid of being harassed because of our presence in the area A). A big amount of people bypassed this checkpoint through the huge mountain of a 70-80% slippery slope. It is a very dangerous way - these kind of passages are indicated at Swiss tourist maps “for very fit”. We were standing together with transit drivers and observed older and other “unfit” people falling, people carrying their luggage, a young couple carrying an ill babyinfo-icon to a hospital, people going with small children. Transit drivers told us that from time to time soldiers shoot towards them (they showed us a bullet) and throw a tear gas. Soldiers want to prevent any movement in this area. People were very angry and could hardly believe that we are Jewish women.
