Still no permanent checkpoint. The entrance to the mosque is now totally closed. People climb over the fence only to find a border police jeep waiting for them. Only those with permits are allowed past into Jerusalem. By the gas station many people climbing over the wall where the tower is, ,first looking to see if there is a police patrol ,and if it is clear ,climbing over the wall.It seems like the situation is better: no checkpoint, but actually it is worse: people don't know what and when to expect a border police to show up. The transits are stopped on the way to Jerusalem and if a driver is caught taking a passenger without a permit, his keys are confiscated. we saw drivers check id's before starting a journey.
