Abu-Dis checkpoint very busy. The border patrol soldier we talked to said he couldn't care less about the passage of the Palestians. "There should be a wall, a border" he said "and who ever crosses without permit should be shot". Four men were detained - one of them for more than half an hour. When we talked about it to the soldiers they said that they can detain them for up to three hours and only then let them go. This is a way of deterring them from crossing again without permits. They let them all go after a few minutes - definitely due to our presence. On the way back we went to Bethlehem. No activity there, just a sour volunteer and a soldier.
