E-Ram: Seven soldiers at the checkpoint all of them hiding their ID tags and very nervous. The most problematic soldier didn't agree to give us his personal number or name. After we called the Naveh Ya'acov police station, he came to us and agreed to give us his details: He and his team behaved very agressively against the Palestinians, hitting the cars, and threatening the people in the cars. Very tense and tough atmosphere. We felt that the situation is so problematic that we decided not to leave E-Ram checkpoint and not to go to Qalandya. Some examples: One young lady in tears just walked through the checkpoint without showing any ID. The soldiers tried to stop her. They yelled a lot but in fact didn't know what to do. A Palestinian couple were in an Israeli car, only the driver had a blue ID. The lady claimed that she was ill and had to go to the hospital. The soldiers yelled and beat the car damaging it. At the checkpoint there were two car lanes for cars, one for emergency vehicles and VIP's and one for the rest. Usually they let people with special needs like CD or ill people pass through the short line. Today, the commander and his team let nobody through. They sent all of them back to wait more then an hour in the long line. Palestinians said that the commander always behaves like that. If you have more stories about him, please let us know.
