Passage is relatively smooth of pedestrians and cars through the checkpoints of Aram and Qalandya. At 15:45 at Qalandya we find 4 held men (2 of them taxi drivers), whose IDs have been confiscated hours ago (2 at 9:30, 1 at 12:30 and 1 at 14:00). One man was handcuffed, but soon after our arrival the handcuffs were removed!! We called the DCO commander right away and asked the checkpoint commander to intervene. About an hour later the IDs were returned (except for one, whose owner went home without waiting for his ID - we'll follow up the case). A resident of Kufr Akeb approached us and asked if we could possibly send a shift on Saturdays at noon, because at this time the soldiers seem to feel particularly frustrated, and behave in a violent manner, shooting sound granades and tear gas without apparent reason. At 17:00 Qalandya was miraculously emptied of cars and pedestrians. On our way back we passed E-Ram in a transit - whose driver refused to takemoney from us - and it took only 10 minutes to pass.
