All seemed quiet and calm at the western roadblock and adjacent junction. The numbers and density of passengers and vehicles was much lower than average. Because of Ramadan, school starts at 8.30 rather than 7.45 AM, classes are only 35 minutes long, and by 12 noon schoolday is over (in short, a lost month). We ended the shift at checkpoint 300. Immediately upon arrival we were ordered by a border-policeman to withdraw from what he referred to as "his territory" and "his space", suggesting that we proceed with the watching from far away (outside the checkpoint). We decided to avoid fighting this time, and left the area. It should be noted, for the record, that the entire place was completely Arab-Free, no Palestinians whatsoever waiting in the pedestrians' line.
