Afternoon

Jubara 14:30

We had arranged a meeting there with a friend of Raya's from the north to bring him a package.  The man wasn't there. After a short wait, and with the authorization of the checkpoint commander, we went up to the village ( thanks to Inbal who took off the manacles from the lock).

The reserve-duty soldiers at the schoolchildren's gate took an interest in us; they learn something new every day.

Ar-Ras 15:15

The reserve-duty soldiers greeted us as long-lost relatives; some of them served there during their regular army service and remember us from back then. The entrance to Tulkarm is with no inspection and the exit - with speedy inspection.  The most memorable event is that a car got stuck at the roadblock and had to be towed back to Tulkarm.

15:30

We passed by the entrance to Tulkarm.  The queue spilled over to the main road but was flowing.  It was still long when we passed by on the way back from Beit Iba, and we asked a driver we met to call us when he goes through; but he never called, even though we gave him the phone number.
