Morning

08:00 – 08:20 Tura-Shaked checkpoint

We were half an hour late this morning and we missed the peak traffic on Saturdays. There was no one by the turnsile, which means no delays. At this time both vehicles and pedestrians arrive at a slow pace. Passage is swift.

08:30 – 9:00 Barta'a-Rihan checkpoint

The car park is loaded. Cabs waiting for passengers and many of them are still coming out of the terminal. Down at the entrance/exit the line in front of the windows is long. We are told that there has been a half-hour delay at one of the windows, which affected the others. The reason is unclear. Apparently a young boy came without his parents (and perhaps without the required papers ) and the checkpoint manager tried to call the parents. Fifteen minutes later the problem was resolved ( the boy went through), the line moved forward fast, and by the end of our shift there was no line at all; one window closed up.

At the car park we met Marie. with her brother and their father Amjad, waiting for transportation to physical therapy in Um-el-Fachem. They send their regards to all of us.
