Morning

06:00 – Reihan – Barta'a Checkpoint

To our surprise there was a rather long and orderly line, but suddenly everything changed. A lot of men were standing at the entrance from the parking lot to the turnstile. They all looked young and strong and were pushing aggressively despite the objection of those who were waiting in the line. People report that last Friday one of the people crossing broke his hand in the scuffle.  One person said: "You've been coming here for ten years. I know you. What good are you?"

07:05 – Tura – Shaked Checkpoint

Several cars are going in both directions and a few children are crossing to go to school. Our presence is not really necessary.

At 07:20 we were on our way to A'anin Checkpoint. Several farmers are waiting on the road to the checkpoint on their way to the olive harvest.  A man tells us that his son has been arrested and released after several hours, for not having a magnetic card, and is now banned from crossing the checkpoint and cannot get to the olive harvest.  A young man tells us that he had received a permit but his brother did not, and asks us to find out why.

At 07:30 the soldiers locked the gate, and said that there were no more people who wanted to cross.
