Morning

The occupation has still not been made easier...

We arrived at the Liaison and Coordination Administration at 10:30.  There were not a lot of cars there.  Four people were in the waiting room. Three were waiting for the police, who were not there today, and who evidently had not been there in the past few days.  Apparently Palestinians cannot call and verify that the police will be at Etzion.  They were told to come on Wednesday at 11:00, "God willing".

It is hot and dusty today.  People claim that there has not been weather like this for 15 years.

While we were there other people arrived: two were there to see the special security forces and were taken in quickly; others were there to receive permits, and two to receive magnetic cards.   The woman soldier at the window, a recent immigrant who did not speak fluent Hebrew, was polite and efficient and let people in quickly. When one of the people rang the bell at the window and said there was no one at the permits window, the soldier arrived quickly. However, the person did not receive a permit to accompany a medical patient… or receive a cancellation of a previous entrance prohibition because he did not meet the criteria… People with prohibitions from the security forces were advised to call Sylvia.
