Morning

The occupation doesn’t get more comfortable...

We arrived at DCL as usual at ten-thirty. There were not many cars.
Today begins the Feast of the Sacrifice - Eid al-Adha. A few men arrived to get passing permits for the holiday; two came to ask for flying permits through Ben Gurion Airport and received them – they are known merchants and you could see by their cars that they are rich…

A young man was summoned by the GSS today.... The invitation was on a police form stating he had to be there at 09:00 for an interrogation. It was already 11:30 when we decided that enough is enough!  Shlomit dealt with the Military Center while I sent a reminder to the Coordinator of Activities in the Territories: Is it necessary to summon a man on his holiday to a GSS investigation? Does it protect the fabric of his life? The guy is a 24-year-old Hebron resident, and he was noticeably distressed.
All we can do is hope he will pass the interrogation in peace and will be able to return to his family and celebrate Eid-al-Adha, a holiday that symbolizes the sacrificing of Isaac. How symbolic is the connection between Yom Kippur and sacrificing Isaac...

Happy New Year - God willing.
