Morning

11:00  We left from Omer.  At this hour people who’ve crossed through Meitar have long been at work.  This is a short work-week; they return to the Palestinian Authority on Tuesday at noon.

The Sham’a settlement – construction proceeds very rapidly.

11:38  The southern entrance to Hebron is open; no soldiers.

The Tzabar battalion is now stationed at the entrance to Hebron-Kiryat Arba.

A new neighborhood is being built in the heart of Kiryat Arba, announced by a sign, and initial construction is visible.

The entrance to the Cave of the Patriarchs is blocked.  Hundreds of chairs on the lawn in preparation for an event.  Later we learned that Sarit Haddad will perform today for “women.”  Five buses had already arrived by the time we left Hebron.

We passed the house where last week a Palestinian youth had been attacked by female settlers.  The house and gate are locked.

Here’s the new layout of the Pharmacy checkpoint:  the crossing on the right is for people leaving to Area H1 through the revolving gate.

The guard tower is in the middle and the inspection booth for those entering H2 is on the left.

This morning about eight pupils from the adjacent elementary school were inspected; their bags were carefully searched.
