Morning

We arrived at 06:30. Just then Palestinian workers began coming out of the CP. Later we were told that today the soldiers were 15 minutes late opening the CP. And whoever arrives at the CP after 07:30, even if the CP is still active, is not allowed to pass, as though he’s asking to be served by a teller at the bank.

Disciplining and imposing "order" on people waiting on both sides of the CP (first pedestrians, later "vehicles" – cars and carts hitched to horses and donkeys). As time passes the gestures ordering people to proceed to the checking booth seem more patronizing.

We saw two men who were not permitted to leave Habla and had to return empty-handed, and also more people than usual who buckle their belts after the checking.

07.55– The closureinfo-icon of the CP

The soldiers begin singing "Beautiful Israel"… while closing the CP at 07:56. Naïve belief? Cynicism? Eyes wide-shut.
