Qalandiya

Qalandiya CP was much busier than usual yesterday afternoon, with a steady if weak flow of people arriving from Ramallah and passing through to Jerusalem.  The guard on duty at the CP entrance had a tendency to lock the turnstiles even though lines in the passageways were never very long – perhaps he was new at his job – but opened them again upon request.  There were a lot of new faces among the soldiers in the passageways too.  But, all in all, the CP worked pretty efficiently, with 3 passageways operating.

Much longer lines were observed on the other side of the CP, in the passageway for bus passengers, and the vehicle CP looked very crowded as well. 

The candy vendor told us that it had been a very quiet day, with no special events.
