Afternoon

05:45  Barta'a-Reihan checkpoint

The car park is still vacant. The weather is cold and rainy and few people are crossing. Construction and farming workers don't go through today. Two who have tried to go to work returned. It is impossible to work outdoors in such conditions.

We meet our friend B. who is employed at the carpetung factory at  the Shachak industrial zone.

One of the drivers, a Bedouin, tells us that four out of his dozen children are students in Nablus and in Jenin. He himself had worked for twenty years as a Gardner in a kibbutz. He has many relatives in Israel, some of whom have even serve in the IDF, another scene in the absurd Israeli-Palestinian theatre.

06:35  Anin checkpoint

Gatesinfo-icon were open, soldiers waited inside their vehicles but Palestinians had not arrive.

07:05  Tura-Shaked checkpoint

Farmers do not show up today. A few men from Ya'abed cross to the industrial area near Shaked, as well as two women who are employed at the carpeting factory.

Children and teachers don't come since schools are close due to the weather.

07:40 It is extremely cold. 4 degrees Centigrade. We leave.
