Inaam Kanambo – Case No. 9758/04/13

Inaam has been detained in Hasharon Prison since 2.4.13

(See my report on her earlier court hearing from 11.9.13)

As soon as the hearing started the attorney presented a plea bargain from which the charge of actual terrorism had been expunged. This enraged the prosecutor, since she had summoned the commander of the police station where Inaam had been taken. She demanded to record in the protocol that the prosecution agreed only under protest.

In short, the penalty imposed on Inaam is seven and half months from the day of her arrest, plus 5 months suspended sentence for two years for assaulting policemen.

The term may be shortened to allow Inaam to be released administratively, so she can spend the holiday [Eid Al-Adha] at home. Let’s hope.

Shosh Kahn from “Women for Political Prisoners” was present in court.
