15:00 – 'Anin Checkpoint

The gate was due to open at 15:00 and there were already several Palestinians and tractors waiting, but no one came to open the checkpoint.  Neta called the Liaison and Coordination Administration at 15:20, and they said they would find out what was going on.  She called again at 15:25 and was told that the soldiers were on the way.   When she called again a soldier at the Liaison and Coordination Administration asked her what she was doing at the checkpoint, and she explained.

One of the Palestinians waiting at the checkpoint told us that the olive harvest would begin on October 3rd, and that they had received 300 permits.

Eid al Adha, the Moslem holiday, will take place from Sunday to Wednesday of next week.

Meanwhile, at 15:40 the soldiers finally arrived.  Everyone crossed in 10 minutes.

16:00 – Shaked – Tura Checkpoint

It is quiet and pastoral and there is very little traffic.

16:15 – Reihan – Barta'a Checkpoint

The second inspection window has not been operating for several weeks.  A small line forms, but quickly disappears.   At first there is a trickle of people crossing which eventually increases.  One of the people reports that there is a lot of disorder at Tibeh in the morning, and asks us to do something.

We left at 17:00.
