Afternoon

13.45 Habla. The soldiers began to close the gate at 14.00 exactly when a Palestinian came running up and asked to be allowed to pass before they close. Of course they refused and he went back the way he had come. The soldiers claimed that they had already closed the computers.

Azzun. As usual an army jeep is at the entrance to the village.

14.40 Huwwara checkpoint is empty.

14.45 Beit Furik. An army jeep with 5 soldiers around it stand on the hill opposite the checkpoint.

15.25 A rolling checkpoint at the entrance to Beita. Soldiers check those entering and exiting. Some metres after Beita on the main road to Huwwara was a traffic jam in both directions  up to the checkpoint of Za’tara/Tapuach and the reason is that that checkpoint is full of soldiers checking vehicles coming from both directions.

When we reached the checkpoint of Za’tara and Tapuach they are finished their search but there were still soldiers at the posts.

16.10 Azzun Atma  No pressure. An old woman got to the checkpoint where she was checked and the soldiers found two bags full of pitot. She took them out very angrily.
