Morning

We arrived at 05:00, the car park is still closed so we had to park on the street

3 turnstiles were open & running smoothly, & the lines reached the end of the sheltered area where the vendors stand. Within 10 mins the remaining 2 turnstiles were opened which speeded up the flow of workers.

Everyone is smoking again & the ground was littered.

Lots of people greeted us with a nod & a warm 'good morning'. One guy smiled at us, called us over to him & thanked us for coming. He talked with us for a long time, sharing his opinions about the war in Gaza. During this time workers flowed through quickly & smoothly.

The humanitarian gate was opened at 06:05, mostly women were using it today. We talked with the soldiers manning the gate.

At 06:55, (leaving a quiet & almost empty hall) we set off back to Jerusalem ... only then did we encounter problems. The soldiers at the check point were aggressive toward us insisting we open & show them everything in the trunk of the car! This proved to be an extremely unpleasant experience, following a remarkably satisfying shift at Qalandiya.
